Did you know there used to be volcanos in Utah? Did you know there is one you can drive onto and explore? Join us for a memorable trip out into the west desert taking backroads to an old volcano, and even take a short hike(10 mins) into the cone if you want.

Along the way there will be a handful of interesting sites to check out, and after visiting the volcano those who are interested can pop over to nearby Delta and watch the Delta Classic Rock Crawling competition(admission is free), or even swing by Little Sahara and watch the action on Sand Mountain(State Park Fee Area).

We will be meeting at the pony express staging area at 9. Currently we have 2 routes in mind to get down to the volcano, each with its own interesting sites to see although one would be some fairly new stuff to the group so we are leaning that way. Final route decision will be based on if we can pre-run the "new" route and get everything sorted before the event.

This route will be doable by any 4x4 vehicle, and anyone is welcome to join. Since we have not pre run the new route yet our best guess is plan on 5-6 hours of ride time, plus travel back home from the Little Sahara area.
