BOAR is holding an intro to welding class in November. The class will be a very basic overview of welding, with hands on practice. We will have many styles of welding machines/equipment available, and professional welders assisting students.

Before welding, we will have some basic instruction on how the welders work and methods of using them. We then will have plenty of scrap metal to practice your welding skills on. After a bit of scrap metal practice, everyone will weld up their projects.

Cost: 

We have a couple different projects this year to choose from, with varied costs as follows:

$15 - Jeep Foot Pegs

$20 - Hitch Mount Flag Holder

$80 - Firepit - We have the following Jeep fire pit styles CJ, YJ, TJ, XJ, JK, and JL, along with an American Flag, or Elk in the woods version

These fees cover all the materials for the projects, use of welders and other tools (grinders, flap disks, etc...), and scrap metal practice welding.

Other info: You do not have to pay for the scrap metal you practice on, unless you want to take it home with you. We will not be painting the items at the event, but i will briefly go over the paint and method that i use so you can take care of it on your own should you choose.

Due to space, the class is limited to 10 people/couples. If you are interested, please be sure to register for the event so we can get the necessary materials.

Final thoughts: Like most of our events, this event is ran by volunteers. The gentleman teaching the class is a welder with a large amount of experience, but isn't specifically a teacher of welding so please remember, this is a for fun class to learn the very basics.
