Have you wanted to try out camping but arent sure how to setup a tent?  Or maybe you're an experienced outdoor vet who wants to dust off their gear for the season or test out a new item.  Regardless of where you land on the experience scale, you are welcome to come out to the BOAR Campout De Mayo.

BOAR has rented group area 5 at Willow Park in Lehi which has running water bathroom facilities, a playground, easy access to the Jordan River for fishing(you need a license), and a dog park.  This is a perfect area for trying out camping and/or testing out new gear without being far from civilization should the need arise for more supplies or even just being short on time.

Vehicles are allowed on the grass so you can bring anything from a blanket on the ground, truck bed with a mattress, up to a roof top tent mounted on your rig or trailer.  We even have room for a few camp trailers/RVs(no hookups), just make sure to contact us first as space is limited.

In addition to the on-site playground we will have a few lawn games, frisbees, soccer balls, etc... available for folks to use.  Or bring your own game to share with the group.  

Friday night there will be a free basics of first aid class presented by Andy Christensen, who is an EMT, volunteer with Search & Rescue, and certified first aid instructor.  This will be a short class, 45mins to 1hr long.

Our goal with this event is to get the group outdoors for a relaxing low stress weekend, allowing you to test out gear or bring out your family to experience camping, all while still being close enough to civilization you have a safety net in regards to forgotten items or something unexpected happens.  It will also be a great time to check out the setups/gear that everyone has, ask questions, and get ideas for your own needs.

Registration for this event is required, but is free.  You must register via our website so we can get an accurate headcount of people and expected equipment as space is limited.

This is a 'bring your own meals' event, and there is a few firepits you can cook on if needed.
