CPR Certification 11-18-2017

BOAR hosted a CPR certification course on the 18th, which allowed 12 participants to be trained on adult, child, and infant CPR along with usage of an AED.

This training is something you hope to never have to use, but is great to learn or have a refresher on, particularly with the outdoor activities many of us participate in.

We cannot thank our instructor Andy Christensen enough for traveling from Ephraim and providing the training to the group. His real world experience made the class exceptional.

There was quite a few requests for another first aid class like we did earlier in the year, and we plan on continuing to have these trainings throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who attended!

  • We enjoyed another great welding class this month, and at a new location with CompuTune in Provo hosting the event along with their welder teaching. This larger shop space allowed for the use of multiple styles of welders, and different welding scenarios such as axle tab welding, exhaust welding, flux core, and gas welding. We appreciate being able to use this great facility and look forward to future classes.
  • We had an excellent training on Monday concerning the usage of HAM radios, what to expect on the tests for the various license levels, discussion on types and recommendations on what to get, along with a Q&A to get any questions answered. There were also some great stories shared about why HAM radio is a good idea to learn and real life application scenarios. This was all possible thanks to Bryon Densley, who volunteered his time and expertise to build up the knowledge of the group. We look forward to future classes and other opportunities to expand our groups usage of HAM radios and all they have to offer. Thank you Bryon!
  • Thanks to everyone who made it out to our welding class this month. This time around we offered the option of making a collapsible/portable pit that seemed to be a hit. Huge thank you to Andy, Dean, and Corbin for going over the basics and offering one on one training to everyone during the class. For those who are interested, one option for a grill top for the pits can be purchased here: If you want extra lynch pins, or need replacements some day, they can be found here: Next time around we also plan on offering smaller projects for those who may not want to make a firepit so stay tuned. Thanks again everyone! Til' Next Time!
